When growing Dieffenbachia White Flame, most varieties do best in a filtered light situation, where bright to moderate light shines through a sheer curtain or other filtering window cover. Filtered light is particularly important in the spring and summer when the Dieffenbachia White Flame houseplant is producing new, tender leaves that are subject to sunburn if the light is too bright or shines directly on the plant.
Feed a balanced, diluted fertiliser on a regular basis for the best results. Follow the quantity given on the product label. Most growers, however, stand by a habit of using a little diluted fertiliser at each watering. Dieffenbachias usually require yearly replanting. Keep an eye out for symptoms of stress on the plant, such as roots poking through the surface, crowding, or dying leaves, which might show that the plant needs to be replanted. Simply lift the plant as a whole, remove any old soil and dead material from the roots, then repot it in a larger container with some fresh soil added. Allow a dieffenbachia some time to adjust to its new place after repotting.
