ADDITIONAL CARE

Avoid getting moisture in the base of the Zamia Furfuracea, Cardboard Palm, Cardboard Cycad, Jamaican Sago, Mexican Cycad plant, which can cause it to rot. The most intensive growth of the plant occurs in the spring. At this time, it needs the brightest light. Zamia does not want to trim but needs time to remove old dead leaves. However,  Wipe Leaves periodically with a damp cloth. Firstly,  water deeply weekly in summer but reduce moisture in winter and fall by half.  Secondly, filling the thick underground trunk with stored water. Once the crown is overtaken by fungal spores, it is nearly impossible to save. However, Prune off dead leaves of Zamia Furfuracea as they occur and fertilize with a slow-release palm food once monthly during the growing season.
