ADDITIONAL CARE
String of Pearls, Senecio Rowleyanus, and Curio Rowleyanus are all drought-tolerant succulents. Plant it in a container with a drainage hole and cactus-friendly potting mix. When watering, properly soak the soil, then allow it to dry completely before watering again. String of Pearl requires little care. This lovely succulent needs well-drained soil, bright sunshine, and occasional watering to grow well and stay healthy and happy. Senecio grows best in cactus and succulent soil mixtures that absorb a sufficient quantity of water and allow excess moisture to drain.
Repot a String of Pearls every 1-2 years or when the plant grows out of its pot. Use a larger pot and a cactus or succulent potting mix that drains effectively. Strip the dead or damaged roots. Use a balanced liquid fertilizer diluted to half strength, once a month in the spring and summer, and less frequently or not at all in the fall and winter.
Pests such as mealybugs and spider mites can harm a pearl string. In order to prevent diseases, check and isolate infected plants. If the soil is overwatered or poorly drained, root rot can result. Check for drainage holes in pots and remove any areas that are infected.
