Young plants should be watered well, but once established, they are drought-tolerant and don’t like too much water. |
CARING FOR YOUR ENGLISH LAVENDER
If you see the tips or edges of your English lavender turning brown or yellow, especially on older leaves, it could be due to your tap water. To fix this, let your tap water sit overnight before watering to remove chlorine and fluoride.
Remove any yellow leaves to keep your English lavender healthy. Instead of using leaf shine, occasionally clean the leaves with a damp cloth to prevent dust or dirt buildup, which can block sunlight absorption.
Ensure your English lavender has good drainage to avoid waterlogged soil, preventing leaf discoloration.
ADDITIONAL CARE TIPS
Pruning: Trim back faded blooms to encourage new growth. Additionally, use clean, sharp scissors or shears, snipping stems just above the leaves.
Fertilizing: English Lavender only needs a little fertilizer. Add a small amount of balanced, all-purpose fertilizer following package instructions in the spring.
Planting:
- For planting, choose well-draining soil.
- Mix potting soil with sand or perlite for better drainage.
- Dig a hole twice the size of the root ball, place your lavender, fill with the soil mixture, water well, and you’re all set!
Following these simple steps will keep your English lavender flourishing in your garden.
NOTE
An example picture gives a trustworthy image of the plant with good care. The plant in the example picture is not the plant that will be delivered. This is an example, so variations are possible. Eventually, the delivered plant may differ in, for example, size, the number of flowers, and the number of branches. The plant will be in a plastic pot, not the one shown in the picture.
