Green Thymus Plant | Thymus Vulgaris | Garden Thyme is a widely grown and used herb all over the world. Thyme planting is simple and low-maintenance. Thyme plants can reach heights of 6 to 12 inches. It also has a tendency to spread. Their small, almost hairy-like leaves are highly aromatic, making them ideal for enhancing the flavours of a dish. Thymus Vulgaris also produce flowers in white, pink, or lilac that are very appealing to bees. It’s best to bring the thyme outdoors on a regular basis to get some natural sunlight. This is especially important if you notice the leaves turning pale green or yellow.
Garden Thyme plants, in moreover being a tough plant in your herb garden, have very low fertiliser needs. If the soil is fertile, you can grow thyme for months without using any fertiliser. You can apply diluted fertiliser once a month or as needed during the growing season. Make sure to pot the plant in a well-draining, fertile sand to keep it healthy.
You’ll be pruning your thyme on a regular basis. Simply pinch back the fully grown leaves on a regular basis. Pinching on a regular basis will encourage branching, which is the desired shape for a potted thyme plant.
