ADDITIONAL CARE
Ficus Nitida Bonsai Indoor grows great directly under the full sun and in soil that drains well. Water newly planted ficus regularly, about twice per week until they are established. To create a clean formal hedge, use an electric trimmer to shape it to the desired height. Spring is the most important time to fertilize ficus plants. Use an all-purpose fertilizer, such as a granular, 15-15-15 NPK plant food. These slow-release fertilizers often last for about 2 months. So reapply during the Spring and Summer growing season. Plant in soil that drains well. Dig a hole that is as deep as the tree’s roots and at least twice as wide. Place the Ficus Nitida Bonsai tree in the hole and backfill around the plant’s roots with a mixture of the native soil and high-quality planting mix that has washed sand and organic fertilizer. Create a basin around the roots drip zone so that water collects. Water deeply until the roots and nearby soil are saturated and reach field capacity.
