ADDITIONAL CARE
Dieffenbachia Camilla has a toxic sap that can cause the tongue to swell, giving the plant its nickname, “Dumb Cane”. Keep out of reach of pets and children, and wash your hands after pruning. Most varieties do best in a filtered light situation when growing, where bright to moderate light shines through a sheer curtain or other filtering window cover. Another golden feature of the Dieffenbachia Camilla is that it is really low maintenance. It does not need its grower to worry about it now and then; it pretty much grows on its own. The only thing that you have to do is to water it once or twice a week and feed it every month. That’s pretty much it. Filtered light is particularly important in the spring and summer when the houseplant is producing new, tender leaves that are subject to sunburn if the light is too bright or shines directly on the plant.
